Dictionary Day
A dictionary is perhaps the first and most important reference tool that a child should own. Its usefulness goes beyond spelling, pronunciation and definitions; it is a companion for solving problems that arise as a child develops his or her reading, writing and creative thinking abilities. Over
100,000 third grade students throughout Long Beach have received a student dictionary from the Library Foundation, thanks to the Earl B. and Loraine H. Miller Foundation and donors like you.
This year's Dictionary Day was hosted in Febuary at the beautiful El Dorado Neighborhood Library. We were host to two third grade classes from Abraham
Lincoln Elementary School. These Lincoln Lions really showed off their
dictionary knowledge in a rousing game where everyone was a winner!
A Special Thank You to....

Because of your
generous donation, each and every 3rd grade student in Long Beach received a
dictionary.
